WHY AGING IN PLACE ILLINOIS

Happy man and woman outside smiling for a selfie.

Aging in Place Is Personal to Me

Aging in Place Illinois was built from both professional and personal experience. After helping care for my father through hospice and now helping care for my mother as her needs change, I’ve seen firsthand how important the home can be to a person’s independence, comfort, and quality of life.

As a general contractor and Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), I created Aging in Place Illinois to bring together practical construction experience, aging-in-place expertise, and a personal understanding of what families are going through. Our goal is simple: help make home safer and easier to live in—without making it feel institutional.

Personal Understanding

Our approach is also shaped by firsthand caregiving experience. We understand that aging in place isn’t simply about modifying a house—it’s about helping someone continue living in the home they know and love.

OUR APPROACH

A Home Should Adapt to You — Not the Other Way Around

Aging in place doesn’t always require a major renovation. Sometimes thoughtful changes—better lighting, safer flooring, improved access, or a more functional bathroom—can make a significant difference in how safely and comfortably someone lives at home.

We believe every recommendation should fit the person, the home, and the situation. That means considering not only safety and accessibility, but also comfort, appearance, budget, and how the home is actually used every day.

Our goal is simple: help your home continue to work for you while keeping it feeling like home.
